FAQs

Q. What should I expect at my first appointment?

A. A calm, friendly atmosphere in which we will explore your needs, your journey and your expectations. We will then discuss the best approach for you, timeframe, and budget.

Q. What kind of treatment should I expect?

A. We will work with your breath first and foremost to build a picture of where we need to focus our work together. Then we will look at what your body will most likely respond to, whether it be some movement work to release tightness, stabilise the powerhouse of your body (your core) and strengthen key areas that will sustain ease of movement over time. Or energy work to heal from the inside.

We use breathwork and deep meditation to calm anxiety, stress and tension that are so often associated with pain, discomfort and restricted movement.

Q. What should I bring/ wear?

A. Comfortable clothes that allow free movement, a towel and a blanket.

Q. Why are some sessions longer?

A. We have different lengths of sessions to fit your treatment programme. We do not believe in charging you for time you may not use as you move through your treatment pla

Q. What if I can’t afford things right now?

A. We can offer a concession based on your circumstances. Call us to discuss.

As a yoga instructor specialising in pelvic health, menopause and mindful meditation,  I offer one to one sessions specifically for women who would like help to alleviate symptoms, raise awareness to help themselves or for those who have tried many alternatives with little relief.

My personal journey in overcoming chronic pain and the menopause, adds a level of knowledge and understanding that is empathetic, insightful and unique.

In addition to asana-based yoga work, I offer Yoga Nidra, a powerful technique for deep relaxation, stress management and a way to awaken your inner potential.

I believe we are at our happiest when our systems are in balance, emotionally, mentally, physically and with the universe. Life experiences can throw this balance out of harmony. To support realignment and a return to a place of equilibrium, I offer Reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.

Whether you are reaching out for help to manage symptoms for pelvic floor issues, to positively manage your transition through the stages of the menopause, find support for pain, digestive issues, manage stress or anxiety, I believe I can help you.

Our bodies were built for movement. It is without a shadow of doubt that the single most effective thing that alleviates pain, lowers stress, builds strength and contributes to a healthier, happier heart, brain and body is mindful exercise – in an informed and sustainable way. I can say this with 100% confidence as it is the one key thing that has helped me through my own journey.

Knowing that the impact of relaxation, meditation and exercise is cumulative, it is ok to be kind to yourself and take a break when needed. You don’t always need to lift heavy weights, run a marathon, get on the mat for 90 minutes a day, what really works is daily activity with targeted additions such as weight training, movement for flexibility and mobility and a consistent meditation practice to provide a framework for enjoying what you choose to do.

Why Yoga, Meditation, Nidra, Reiki? – These practices cultivate self-awareness and sensitivity toward your body and mind, a subtle observation and awareness of the mechanics and energetics, they provide an experiential insight into the unique form and shape of your individual being.

I offer a safe alternative to the traditional avenues of help, for example a prescription or surgical treatment for the symptoms of pelvic pain, incontinence, IBS or menopause related symptoms.

I want to help raise awareness of how having a greater understanding of your being and how tuning into what it is telling you, can alleviate symptoms, help prevent further injury or future pain.

So, take this opportunity to reach out to Calm Frog Yoga and look forward to the next stage of your life.
